School and Youth Group Programs
Our
School and Youth programs are designed for the personal growth and
development of middle school and high school age students.
Experiential programming in small groups (10-15 participants)
provides an environment where the group members are both the means
of change and the persons to be changed.
Basic
life and leadership skills are addressed including; goal setting,
effective communication, decision-making, problem solving, conflict
resolution, social responsibility, leadership and trust development.
". . .a
powerful intervention for adolescents at a
time in their lives when
they most need to see the
results of actions - I have seen improved
grades,
reduced absences and reduced suspensions
from students who
participate. . ."
"The team
members took great strides
in cooperative teamwork and developed an
attitude of caring that many did not exhibit before. . .
I attribute
this growth to the program's facilitator
and the skills that he
taught with expertise.
The students were empowered to excel and
attempt
adventures that would have otherwise been ignored."
Experiential
learning provides active and compelling experiences with some basic
tenants of traditional learning. Through the sharing of common
ground activities and experiences, facilitators and participants are
able to establish a safe environment of trust, fun, and learning.
Participants are asked to engage in activities and then reflect on
those experiences to gain useful insights and learning in order to
stimulate a discussion for application into real life scenarios.
We
customize all of our programs to meet the needs of your student
population. The combination of challenging
activities, processing, and evaluation, provide the participants an
opportunity to focus their attention on and better understand their
feelings, perceptions and behaviors. Thus, participants gain a
deeper understanding of themselves and learn about how to work with
others more effectively. The chief aim is to provide an atmosphere
where self-confidence is able to grow coupled with challenge and
success. These sessions are organized in a sequenced process where
growth is supported and encouraged and the positive is emphasized.
Group members develop self-confidence and
learn new approaches toward relationship building.
